Online Bankruptcy

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Filing an online bankruptcy is appealing, but you can’t actually do it unless you are an attorney. You can order bankruptcy forms online, buy software to complete your bankruptcy forms online or hire a lawyer to fill out your bankruptcy forms online – however, if you prepare your forms, you can’t file them online, you have to take them to the courthouse.

Each court requires a different amount of copies to be filed in addition to your petition and each court has different rules for the creditor matrix as well.

Do It Yourself – If you choose to file your bankruptcy after filling out the forms yourself, you will have to research local bankruptcy rules and determine where you need to file your petition. It will also be important to find out what the bankruptcy exemptions are in your state to use when filling out your bankruptcy forms.

If you complete the forms yourself you will have to also represent yourself at the 341 hearing. This is obviously the cheapest method, but it also leaves the most room for errors and confusion.

Hire An Attorney – You can also hire a bankruptcy attorney, they will review your debts, earnings, and property, advise you on the best chapter for your situation, and then prepare your bankruptcy petition and file it with the courthouse.

Your attorney will also accompany you to your 341 meeting. Hiring an attorney is the easiest option for saving you aggravation, it is often high on cost – paying an attorney is often hard for those that are considering filing bankruptcy.

What You Should Know before Purchasing Bedding – Its Gripping

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

Till some years back bedding used to be made from white cotton cloth. You are amazed at the range of unique bedding that are on offer today. The latest bed sheets are available in irresistible prints and colors that change the look of your sleeping room

Here are some steps that you can follow to purchase the ideal bedsheet for you.

Evaluate the sizing of your bed

Though we are all aware what a twin or king or queen sizing bed is, that there are no general proportions for these beds. Also the top measurings, all the rest can be different depending on the brand. So make sure that you calculate all the measurings of your bed from top to bottom and also the thickness of the mattress you are using. You will find that some beds are taller or wider than others with the same name. It is always better to be available with your beds dimensions prior to shopping.

Decide from where to buy

Super storehouses usually stock on branded and their own brands in one place.. For a unique look, some people also go for embroidered bedding with sequins. If you still cannot find what you want, try the online shops. In case you wish to purchase regular bedding you can get a good deal at a discount outlet.

Learn about the thread count of bed sheets

A thread count refers to the number of threads contained in one square inch of the bedsheet in both directions of the weave. You will find this thread count on the bedsheets label. For a lush feel, a high thread count is desirable. Beware of a very high thread count as the sheet may have finer threads and not the texture you want. A soft bedsheet has a thread count that lies between 175 and 250.

Determine on material for your bedsheet

A material that is sensibly priced and feels nice to sleep on is the one for you. Cotton sheets are still liked, but blended cotton is preferred by those who dont like lines. Flannel is warm and can be used for wintertimes. Those who wish a smooth sheet can go for satin or silk.

Check out the sheet dimensions

Measuring the bed sheet before purchasing is as important as measuring the bed size. It is crucial to verify if the bed sheet you are buying will fit well on your bed. Take into account the average 7% shrinking that all bedding undergo after the first laundry. It is a good idea to stock up some extra sets of bedding. these extra sets come in handy if you have kids at home.

These little tips will surely help you in choosing the right bed sheet for you and make every night a night to remember!

Electric Toothbrushes – the Oral B Professional Care 8500

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Inexpensive brushes do the job but have flaws that hinder them from providing the full advantages that an electrical brush such as the Oral B Professional Care 8500 can offer. It took about nineteen hours to charge each time but it gives me about one hours brushing time (bearing in mind that each brush cycle is supposed to last 2 minutes, making 30 brushing sessions or about two weeks per charge).

Cleaning your teeth isn’t the planet’s most exciting task so anything that decreases the boredom and brings some order to it makes the task less uninteresting at which point it is much more likely to be done and much more likely to be done well. It’s still not going to be an exciting task but with a 2 minute timer and a quadrant timer each 30 seconds this makes the entire process much more systematic using the Oral B Professional Care 8500. The other main advantage is that for the majority brushing manually don’t do an excellent job; get a Professional Care 8500 toothbrush and it’s much harder to do it incorrectly. I was not too impressed with the tongue cleaner and the inter-dental cleaner either, only used both once, and do not think I will ever use them again.

The Professional Care 8500 sits cleanly on the toilet window ledge with it’s container holding 4 heads, making it perfect for the family though it’s used by us to contain 2 main heads and an inter-dental head and pick.

The container also homes the charger which can be securely left connected so you should not find this is running out of charge at any time.

It is extremely useful since I am using 2 different toothbrush heads now. Though not a ‘budget’ toothbrush if you look around you will find this available at reasonably wide discounts though the brush heads are relatively pricey.

I think these electric toothbrushes are in the same league as printers in that respect, sold cheaply but the accessories are where the manufacturers’ profit lies. Even if that is the case I will not begrudge it too much as replacement heads, whilst they would cost 2 or 3 time cost of a toothbrush, are still less expensive than dental work at the end of the day.

Are You Down With OPP? Get High Rankings with Other Peoples Popularity

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

There are many “offsite” promotion tactics that work well to get high rankings. But nothing works better in my experience than publishing and syndicating information pieces or articles.

Now before you run off thinking you’ve read about the following tactic before, hang on!

This article assumes you have come cross one of my other articles on articles. And that you know what syndication is and why it is important at it’s most basic level for high rankings.

But now I want to show you a trick to get high rankings for search terms that you currently struggle with on your own site by optimizing SOMEONE ELSE’s site for that term.

Here we go!

There are other sites that have the traffic and rankings you WISH you had, right? Well, syndicating content can put YOU on those sites and if you are smart about it, you can optimize those popular sites pages with your search terms to get high rankings for that particular page.

Why on earth would you do that?

Well, for one, it is faster to get ranked higher on a site that already has a high ranking in the search engines. Your article could focus on a term like I am doing in this one.

Have you seen a repetitious, but hopefully not obnoxious, term in this article? I am using “high rankings” on purpose. I
don’t have a high ranking for that term on any of my sites and I want to use OPP to get a higher ranking for my link – which LINKS BACK TO MY SITE at the bottom of this article!

Confused? Don’t be. Basically, all I am doing is using the popularity of very large sites that house my articles every time I write to get attention of surfers looking for content based on less competitive but desirable keywords.

It’s a known fact that Google spiders more frequently on sites that are large, established, and that change frequently. I can have an article showing up on a Google search in the top ten for a key phrase in as little as 1 day at times.

On a new site the same article would take weeks sometimes to get into Google and even then, if my pagerank isn’t very high yet, I will STILL rank lower than the same page on an established site.

Higher rankings can be achieved in so MANY ways and this is just another angle for writers who have little patience for waiting on the engines to find THEM.

Syndicating keyword optimized articles is how I go out and find the search engines wherever they are spidering right now. This is also how I submit all my sites to the search engines. I just syndicate my articles.

This is basically like casting into a different, more active part of the pond you are fishing in. If the fish ain’t bitin’ where you’re fishing (your own site) then go fish another part of the lake with OPP!

Earthquake Wave Bypass and Reflector Systems

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Earthquakes send destructive waves thru the Earth, which cause huge damage to civilizations. Many structure, which sit on unstable ground get the worst of it. These structures, which are often built using non-Earthquake proof materials and designs will fail and collapse on their occupants.

In the Pakistan quake of 2005 over 80,000 died. This was a combination of factors, which included building a city on shaky ground and building non-re-enforced structures. There may be a way to prevent such massive death and destruction to known Earthquake prone areas using tricks of physics. How so you ask?

Well, what if we can stop the S-Waves or surface waves caused by earthquakes by building walls underground which would reflect the waves? By having flexible walls against hard rock or solid wall structures going down let’s say 400 fee in the ground, we may be able to accomplish this.

Now many would say that what I propose is simply nuts and perhaps it cannot be done exactly this way. However I hereby challenge the experts to prove it will not work and perhaps in doing so they may stumble across a similar line of thought or a different technology, which would work?

So often scientists will be critical of an idea, without completely considering it. So, I hereby challenge you now, to figure it out, as millions of lives are at stake and billions in costs to rebuild? Why you got something better to do? Fine, let’s hear it and bring that along too. Consider this in 2006.

Advice on Whether To Choose a Templated or Bespoke Website

Monday, May 25th, 2009

If you’re wishing to start a website, you need to locate a web design company that can create your website for you. In deciding who to choose, you need to think about one essential issue: should I go for a website template or a bespoke website?

What’s the difference between bespoke and template websites?

A bespoke site is tailor-made for you. You impart your website prerequisites to the designer, and they develop a site developed exactly around your needs. A website template uses already-developed scripts, and you either build your needs around how the website template operates, or the website template can be changed to better match your requirements.

The advantages and disadvantages of a website template

The advantages: A web template uses sturdy, fully tested, stable and secure code, normally has free updates, is very quick and easy to setup and go live with, and is going to be far more cost-effective than choosing a a bespoke site.

The disadvantages: the template might not precisely match your demands, even with customisations applied. Can the developer adjust the template code, and if so, how competently?

Here are the advantages and disadvantages of a tailor-made website

The advantages: The website will be tailor-made to meet your needs. As your website developer will have built the website from nothing, he will have an intimate understanding of the codebase, which is a great advantage over a website template IF the web developer doesn’t have much knowledge of the website template’s codebase.

The disadvantages : it’s high-priced, it takes time for a bespoke site to be created, and you’re taking a risk on whether the web developer is skilled enough to ensure your site is robust, safe, friendly to search engines and is usable and accessible to everybody.

After deciding upon the sort of site you require, you then need to centre on website hosting. Does the site use managed website hosting? Does it use shared hosting? Reliable web hosting is essential to your site. Concentrate also on backups – ensure your website information is backed up on a day-to-day basis.

Branding Food: An Industry That Has To Care

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Whether it be breakfast cereal or fast food chains or even alcoholic beverages, the
food product and services industry must recognize brand in order to succeed in a
rapidly migrant market space. As we already know, consumers are not looking for
product benefits nearly as much as they are recognizing the person the product
represents. This reflection and representation is what creates brand (regardless of
what most average advertising agencies might tell you). With regard to the food
industry, “You are what you eat” has more meaning than it initially presents.
Consumers want to know how what they eat reflects who they are. So how has the
food industry changed with the fad dieting, new nutrition, weight-conscious times?
It all comes down to a matter of taste.

Food trends have definitely not always been about brand. In Luke Sulllivan’s Hey
Whipple, Squeeze This, he shows a series of pictures he created for the trend in
breakfast cereals when he was growing up. The first box shows a simple designed
box of “Flax Flakes,” the next box shows “Sweetened Flax Flakes,” and the presence
of sugar in cereals increases with every box until the last box reads, “SUGAR (no flax
flakes inside).” Ironically, you would be hard pressed today to see a cereal box in the
grocery store that did not scream Whole Grain or High Fiber. High-protein, low-
sugar, organic, non-processed, and low salt have taken over.

Food propositions used to be entirely about taste regardless of the pounds of
butter, amount of sugar and preservatives and milligrams of cholesterol. If it tasted
good, people needed it. Eventually the effects were tangible, and the times have
most definitely changed. Taste has taken a back seat to nutrition as our nation gets
increasingly obese, and let’s face it, being unhealthy is a lot less important than not
being fat (but that is a whole other issue in itself). Food trends can almost be
defined by the decade. Not to say that now all people want to eat nutritious food,
but most people want to appear healthy and as though they are in control of their
bodies and eating habits.

What has been the solution for food brands? How have they adapted to this
consumer mentality of control and self-consciousness? Why do we still buy Cheerios
rather than Grocery Store X’s Toasty O’s that cost a dollar less? The ingredients are
the same, and the box is the same size. We buy Cheerios because Cheerios care
about us, or at least we believe they do, and that is what matters. Smirnoff cares
about us because they tell us to “Drink Responsibly.” McDonalds cares about us
because they let us have salads and yogurt while our kids have McFlurries and
cheeseburgers. It was not long ago when no one ever thought they would live to see
the day when fast food chains actually offered low-fat options. Now, hardly any food
establishment can survive without a wider spectrum of options for Bill on low-carb,
Sue on low-fat, Jan on Weight Watchers, and Ted on Atkins.

The real value is not in the actual food offered, which represents “product,” it is in
the fact that the offer is available and encouraging, which represents “brand.”
Consumers want to be acknowledged and always want to feel as though they have
made the right choice. The choice to take on an active, nutritious lifestyle is
something every person needs to consider; that is basic biological knowledge. What
is not basic knowledge is that people who do choose to take on this challenge need
a lot more help than they admit. The food industry must be able to absorb this
trend and must be able to provide a solution to the problem rather than fuel to the
fire. As for the rest of the population who do not make this choice to live better,
they still like to think that they could if they tried.

In order to differentiate in the food business, the brand must be able to directly
show how it can potentially help the consumer achieve his/her goals. The brand
must be able to show the consumer that his/her goals really matter to them. This
connection and relationship is what initiates trial and then encourages continued
use. This message of partnership for a healthier lifestyle does not fall on deaf ears.
Regardless of how out of shape and overweight Americans prove to be, the desire to
reach an ideal, better image is forever behind the purchase decision.

Washingtonian through and through

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

From founding two companies to helping less fortunate locals, Naveen Jain has endeared himself to many Washingtonians, even though he is not purely American. For over two decades, he has lived in the state, with his wife and three kids.

Naveen Jain’s company, Intelius, has received several recognitions and commendations from several organizations. Headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, Intelius is one of the Best Workplaces and Fastest-Growing Private Firms in its region, according to local commerce bible Puget Sound Business Journal.

Intelius’ products too, have garnered acclaim. IDWatch, Intelius’ range of protection tools against identity theft, won the Washington Software Alliance’s highest Industry Achievement Award for consumer products.

Naveen Jain did not live in Washington until the 1980s. For much of his early life, he lived in India, where he was born in 1959. With an engineering degree and a post-graduate diploma, he took his chance at a better life in the US with a business exchange grant.

Initially, he lived in New Jersey, where he got a job at the Burroughs Corporation (now called Unisys). However, he found the climate of the state inhospitable and he settled for the milder one in Washington. In 1989, he landed work at Microsoft Corporation.

Under Bill Gates, whom Naveen Jain regarded as an inspiration, he worked diligently. Within several years, he rose to become the group manager of The Microsoft Network, managing its debut in 1995. He tackled and helped market Windows 95 too, among other popular operating systems.

He quit the company in 1996, but still he did not abandon Washington. Here, in Bellevue, he set up his first company InfoSpace. In its own way, it placed Washington back on the map.

Naveen Jain takes time to give back to his community in Bellevue, where his family is based. The Bellevue Boys and Girls Club, Hopelink, Tree House, Overlake Service League, United Way of King County, and Olive Crest are just a few of his chosen charities in the city.

Ring In Your Sales With Bells!

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

When I was developing a call center for Xerox, I made a deal with my onsite coordinator:

“Put combination locks on the doors, and don’t permit any tours without speaking to me, first!”

I knew that a successful telemarketing unit would not only attract busloads of corporate tourists and gawkers, but it would be misunderstood.

One reason I promote privacy is that I strive to create a unique environment in a call center, unlike that in any other department. One of my suggestions is to use bells, such as those that adorn the check-in counters at hotels. When a rep sets an appointment or makes a sale, he rings his bell.

This signals success, and it causes a lot of excitement for a number of reasons:

(1) The rep is celebrating his success, making it conspicuous. He gets recognition.

(2) It makes those around him competitive. They want some recognition, too.

(3) It informs management, second by second, how the room is doing.

(4) It reinforces having a louder rather than quieter environment. (See my article: “Bigger Voices Sell Better!”

(5) It’s downright Pavlovian. Want to see management salivate? Ring that bell!

People sell better when they’re uninhibited, extroverted, and one way to get them to be bigger than life is to ring in their sales with bells!
