Conference Centre 47
Friday, April 30th, 2010Whilst selecting a function centre for your event consider how it will impact on your brand. What is the subject matter and the emotion you want the members left with? A clinical office surroundings maybe enough for a lot of conferences but if you are trying to instill something special into the event then the conference venue will have a big impact.
What is the impression on the audience as well as your brand name. If you are trying to convey importance, change, growth etc then consider how your conference centre reflects this. What about Flair? Do you want the people to know that detail is essential?
From the minute the audience walk in, what do you want to be their first impression? Panache, elegance, high tech? The tone of conference will be influenced by this. Does the work that happens at your conference need to be influenced by the environment? Do you need an outdoors area? Is bigger better or is intimacy important? How are you reconciling these? The noises people hear at a venue will have an impact. Timber floor boards sound very different to cheap laminate.
Scents & sounds are always emotive. They remind us of events in our own lives. As people are parking their vehicles what is their experience? Is it a dingy laneway or does it need to be better than that? Is good quality food important? Does the food say something about you as organiser? Is it top quality? If the conference is about cutbacks you probably don’t want to convey extravagance. Does the centre reflect these things?
