Low Cost Gaming Notebooks Most Likely on the Way

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

It wasn’t too long ago when only a handful of manufacturers made gaming laptops. Regardless of the fact they weren’t fantastic sellers they did have high mark ups. I guess most people would concur they always wanted a gaming notebook however it was just out of bounds for the majority. Basically they were the best laptop computers about. Even though that was true I guess the prices were so expensive that we would buy laptops that were not so fast instead. The outlook for gaming laptops is now seen by the global players as a great opportunity for themselves.

Gaming notebooks are ordinarily not affordable by most of us and large companies know they can benefit from the high markup even further with their bulk buying. It is certainly a good alternative to higher gross profits. Why would anyone buy laptop computers like this? I reckon big companies have the marketing resources to teach them that. Had I been a smaller retailer I would definitely be thinking of schemes to counteract this type of competition. I’m quite confident that the global manufacturers will seek to squeeze the little ones out. Big companies can employ their brand names to simply win customers over.

With that these systems are in addition perceived to be the best laptop computers already, even though they really are not. I believe that littler resellers may yet have an opportunity. I do not think consumers will like to have the same spec like everyone else in this type of niche. Customers of this type are normally very in the know concerning the technology at hand, and so can make like for like comparisons. If deciding between specs and looks, these buyers will pick the former.

Obviously what’s taking place here should do good for us in the long term. As this forces down the prices even more, new technology will become even more acquirable to the market. Its tough to say what will happen really as the industry is a fast evolving one. Whether laptop computer prices will come down on the whole is an additional topic however the best laptop computers are typically high priced. Seeing as the big brand companies have already begun marketing gaming laptop computers, I guess we will have to be patient to witness what results.

I reckon this company (http://www.rizeon.com/gaming_laptops/page.php) are pretty good value for the specifications they are selling.

Multiple Website Hosting - Subdomains are the Answer!

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Many business owners find themselves in a quandary over the ways to make the most of their company’s web site. This is especially true of those who have the need to maintain more than one web site but do not wish to pay for multiple hosting accounts. If this is you, a subdomain may be the answer.

Subdomains are sort of a site within a site. They are not, however, simply additional pages of an existing web site. The subdomain can have a web site all its own, completely separate from the site located at the main domain name.

To understand the use and purpose of subdomains, it may be necessary to first understand the concept of an internet domain name. Every web site that is active on the internet (and there are literally billions of them now - it was estimated as long ago as 1996 that there were more web pages in existence than there were people on Earth) has a unique domain name. There can be only one Ebay dot com, for example, on the entire internet. The domain name, however, is really just a way for humans to relate to the site. Internet servers see web site names as unique I.P. addresses. It is the domain name server that translates those numbers into names and back again.

A subdomain is simply an offshoot of your web site’s domain. In terms of the way it appears on the server, the subdomain is simply a folder or a sub directory located within your domain’s root directory. Any sub directory can serve as a sub domain. For example, if your web site is “www.mycompany.com” and you store the images for your site in a directory called “images,” then you could, if you wished, create a subdomain at “images.mycompany.com”. As long as you put an “index.html” page in the folder you should be able to pull it up in a web browser that way. In most cases you will create a new sub directory to be associated with a subdomain and some web hosts do not support subdomains on their servers or put a limit on the number of subdomains you may associate with your site.

The benefits of using subdomains as opposed to opening multiple hosting accounts are twofold. First, you get the obvious benefit of only having to pay for one hosting account. You also benefit from being able to have a completely separate web site, but one that your customers will easily recognize as being associated in some way with your business. Some companies will set up subdomains for various divisions (xyz.com may also have sales.xyz.com or support.xyz.com) and some will use subdomains for various businesses that are all offshoots of the same parent company.

That association could be a downside to using subdomains as well. If you want to keep the relationship between your companies under wraps (like Disney tried so hard to do with Touchstone Pictures so many years ago), you may want to use multiple accounts rather than subdomains. The web address clandestineproducts.megamall.com would clearly betray that there was some connection between Clandestine Products and Megamall, whether you wanted that information to be known or not.

Laptop Demand Is Astronomical

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Laptops have more than likely been on the top of everybodies must have list lately. Those searching for the new montevina platform could be kept waiting as manufacturers have given warning of possible shipment shortages. I think the bad thing for manufacturers is that it doesn’t look like any factor will slow this demand for laptop computers. It’s an industry which is also tough to keep up with it terms of technology because its developing all the time.

There seems to be a lot more choice and attainability of gaming laptops these days. You can actually get a very high spec for your cash these days because even the up market technology is dropping into the mass market area very quickly. For those who desire mobility, the power laptops offer in terms of gaming shouldn’t be frowned upon much longer as power is better. I think what’s very admirable is how sleek the casings are and how cool operating temperatures are the units run. With that stated gaming laptops should never be cosidered in the same class as their desktop counterparts. There will be a gap and the argument here is that its not a enormous deal breaker for the majority. Gaming laptops will undeniably become streamlined and more quicker in the coming years and it will be fascinating to witness.

There are always going to be a few individuals that want a laptop custom built because they need to use it for specialised work. With custom built laptops you typically get to discover what make of components is going into the notebook. Certain verticals benefit because they only have aquire what they require. The vast amount of laptop computers are specified for the normal consumer which means you may not find what you’re searching for. Specialist users require custom laptops for this reason. There are tons of small system resellers about that offer super customer care. A lot ofMany specialist groups of consumers recognise they are catered for better as a result of this.

We are witnessing some pretty cool things at the moment and I wonder what will hit the market next. Simple ultra portables are the current trend. total new market has been created overnight it looks. Massive lcd and supremely lightweight, that is what people should embrace. Manufacturers must be busy on an answer to this as we speak. The way things are developing I can tell gaming laptops will become portable. There’s no telling what ideas we’ll see but more than likely there will be numerous.

I’d personally recommend gaming laptop at rizeon.

GAIN (Gator) - The Virus

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

It just amazes me how there are companies out there, claiming to be legitimate businesses, who are distributing what can only be known as spyware, adware, malware, badware, and viruses. These companies get away with it due to obscure clauses and legal double-speak in their terms of agreements, if they bother to have one at all.

Some websites will download unwanted spyware and badware on your computer without any consent from you at all. They claim that all of this information gathering has a legitimate purpose and that people are over-reacting.

Some people do not know what a virus is. It is simply a program. Just like any other program you download and use everyday. It must be installed onto your computer. The difference between a virus and a legitimate program lies in the purpose for which it was created.

A legitimate program was created to help you perform a task. A virus was created to harm your computer or steal information from you. The other difference is the first one is legal, the latter is not.

A virus is legitimately defined as an executable program, however, any script or macro should be included in that definition in my opinion. If they are written with the intent of causing harm to a user’s computer or they are written and installed on a user’s computer in order to gather information on that user, then they are no better and no different than a virus, and should fall under the same laws that apply to viruses.

If these programs like GAIN, Gator, and WinFixer are so legitimate, why are the techniques they use to install it on a user’s computer so sly? Why are they using these sneaky tactics, such as downloading it onto someone’s computer without disclosing what it actually is to the user in a clear manner?

Why do they write their malware, badware, and adware in such a way as to have it resist your efforts to remove it from your computer? Your computer is something you bought and paid for. You have the right to decide what will be installed on your computer. Anyone who writes a program that resists your ability to choose to remove it is a violation of your rights.

Our elected officials don’t know how to surf the web for the most part, let alone actually understand what the definition of a virus is and how to legislate against spyware and malware. Software companies who write legitimate programs lobby them to make sure they do not pass any laws that regulate the sale of software.

Example: Name any other product or service where you must pay up front for it before you even see the contract you must sign and agree to before you can use it?

Not only that, but large corporations support the use of malware, adware, spyware, badware, and viruses that gather information from users without their knowledge. They in turn buy that information to build their own consumer databases and use that information to sell you products. They pay to know what your habits are. As long as they are willing to pay for that information, companies like GAIN will continue to steal it from user’s and sell it to these companies.

If you want to know how many programs on your computer are gathering information about you, you will need to get some type of spyware detection software. There are several available, however, be careful, some of those advertising the removal of spyware are actually installing it on your computer themselves. Make sure you do a search in your favorite search engine to find out about the brand of software you are thinking of downloading.

If your computer is infected with Gator or GAIN, you may have to use anti-virus software to remove it. Many of the anti-virus companies have removal instructions on their website. If GAIN were a legitimate company and legitimate software, it’s highly doubtful it would have to be removed by an anti-virus program.

I hope this article has been helpful to you. GAIN, WinFixer, and other programs that act in this unethical manner should be considered viruses and held accountable for the harm they do to your computer and liable for the time it takes to remove them. That’s my opinion.
