<p class="MsoNormal">Craven District Council believes that it will be able to reduce its operational costs by ensuring that it is housed in the same <a href="http://www.deskspacegenie.co.uk/">shared office</a> complex as the North Yorkshire County Council. Both the councils are shifting to Belle Vue Mills at <st1:street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Broughton   Road</st1:address></st1:street>. When the plans for the Belle Vue Mills were approved conditionally in March, Craven District Council had planned to move in by this year. However, the plan failed as the developers stopped the project last year due to recession. Rushbond developers have now taken over the project and will be finishing it by the middle of the next year. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Both the councils have gone over the details of the lease agreements and will be signing a 999 years lease. It is already in the final signature stage. Chief executive of Craven District Council, Paul Shevlin, commented that the new office fulfils all the needs of the Council as it has a larger civic space, <a href="http://www.yorkshire-forward.com/improving-places">better work areas</a>, and is more accessible to the public.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style=""> </span>North Yorkshire County Council also considers it a worthy investment. According to its executive member for corporate services, Council Carl Les, both the Councils will be able to work together and deliver first class services being in the same building. People will be able to have better access to local authorities. This will increase the overall efficiency of the local governance.</p>
